I dont know what their aim is long-term to address these concerns, to be fair when they were asked questions they've not gone all Sean Murray and tried selling something they're uncertain of, they seemed very focused on finishing the core game and building upon that from player feedback, and not committing to much beyond that. The graphics are also realistic, which is great for people who love to explore and find new things.
Unlike other games which have pre-designed landscapes, in Astroneer free download everything is procedurally generated, so youll never know what youll find. I wont use the alpha issues as a stick to beat it with, especially as some of those may now be fixed since those recordings, but the core game feels like it might be very similar to a lot of sandboxy crafty survivaly experiences where its great for a few hours but then feels shallow.
